It seems that these new-fangled webseries like Riese were the talk of the town down in San Diego last week, eclipsing even Robert Downey Jr.’s latest foray into the metal suit, James Cameron’s re-invention of the cinematic experience and the latest installment of the Twilight series.

Riese Director Kaleena Kiff and Producer Nicholas Humphries had the opportunity to discuss Riese at Comic-Con with a CNN.com affiliate and producer of another type of webseries and Boris – have a look at the story!

But seriously, webseries are a new player in the entertainment biz and they’re starting to be taken more seriously as folks become more computer savvy, internet access becomes more ubiquitous and people become tired of the idea of linear you-watch-stuff-on-our-schedule broadcast programming. Content is increasingly democratized as the line blurs between those making the content and those watching it so we weren’t the only ones promoting a webseries in and around Comic-Con ‘09.

After an extensive search, we have cast Christine Chatelain in the role of Riese. Christine has appeared in many films and TV shows  including SyFy’s Sanctuary in a recurring as the Invisible Girl, Supernatural, The Collector, The L-Word and Final Destination. We welcome Christine to the team and look forward to working with her – let’s hope Tundra the wolf likes her!
